...and to all a good night!
Even though Christmas is not yet over, so far it has been another smashing success. While last year, with my family in town, Christmas had more of a Dutch touch, this year husband-dear's family made the twelve-hour trek down to our little town, and so we had a traditional American Christmas. We had stockings stuffed to the brim with candy and showergel (it's a DixieChick family inside joke), enough presents to please everyone, enough boxes to keep all, including myself, occupied with fantasized canoe trips down Niagara Falls for hours, and enough movies to get everyone in the holiday spirit. There were cookies after dinner last night, followed by a trip to the candlelight service at the Chapel last night, followed by more cookies, and the baking of more pies and carrot cakes on my part. There were cinnamon rolls for breakfast, tapas for lunch, and another scrumptuous dinner, which included the traditional turkey, ham, stuffing, corn casserole, sweet potato casserole, cranberry sauce, rolls, and goodness knows whatever else. The counter is groaning under the weight of all the deserts (apparently being a Martha Stewart in decorating means I am now also a baking fanatic), and we also have a walk planned past all the lit houses in our neighborhood. Our Christmas has been very merry indeed, and I hope yours is too.
